Abbeyfield Saskatoon welcomed its first resident in November 2005. Full occupancy of ten independent residents was reached by June 2006.
The spacious 6000 square foot bungalow faces the well-groomed Holiday Park. Our property is the entrance to the former Saskatoon Sanatorium.
Abbeyfield Saskatoon provides
Each resident has a bed-sitting room (approximately 216 square feet) with a three-piece ensuite that includes a walk-in shower. In addition to traditional common areas, the residents enjoy a solarium with morning and mid-day sun, walk-in jet tub in the common bathroom, craft room and laundry room. A large activity room and guest room are located on the lower level.
A volunteer board oversees the operation and management of the house. House coordinators prepare home-cooked meals at lunch and supper and promote a caring and supportive environment during their day shift. Residents prepare their own morning meal at their leisure (breakfast food provided by the house).
Abbeyfield is not a personal care home or a nursing home.
